Welcome back.... today's post will be about last Friday's reception at Micki and Bill Lippe's home for Helen Williams Drutt and Nancy Worden.
Getting things ready for the reception. Here is a photo of Micki Lippe and Ron Ho looking/adding some items to the table...
(there is my "szarlotka" on the white platter in the right corner of this picture. everyone liked it or at least I thought so...since I only had to take my empty platter home. ha!)
Coffee or tea anyone? Paired with some great metalsmithing writings such as the Seattle Metalsmith Guild newsletter or Metal-Urge brochure....
more preparations in the kitchen...
the table is ready for the guests (thanks to everyone that brought something)...
Guests have arrived...
It was a full house. We all crowded around the back patio to hear some brief remarks: first from Micki Lippe (the hostess)....
...and then from Stephanie Stebich the director of the Tacoma Art Museum. It was so wonderful to hear the great role that the Tacoma Art Museum has and will continue to have in the metalsmithing community in the Pacific Northwest. The Tacoma Art Museum will be home to four new jewelry cases (which will be donated by various people/organizations) that will house the permanent collection of studio art jewelry from Northwest artists.
The Tacoma Art Museum collection of studio art jewelry from Northwest artists already includes key works from such artists as Mary Lee Hu, Ken Cory, Ron Ho, Ramona Solberg, Kiff Slemmons, and Nancy Worden.
Some photos of everyone talking....
I just had to include this clean up picture. Take a look at Julia Henscheid's and Maru Almeida's ring. They looked fabulous even while cleaning.
Thanks again to Micki and Bill Lippe for hosting this event at their home.
Tomorrow's post will include some images of components for some of my new pieces for the "collaborative" photo shoot. Ciao!
