Seattle Metals Guild.

Last week, I got the Seattle Metals Guild facebook fan page up and running. I think this will be a great tool for the guild to keep members informed, while at the same time allowing others to learn about what this organization is all about. The Seattle Metals Guild was founded in 1989, thanks to Micki Lippe.

Seattle Metals Guild statement of purpose:

"The Seattle Metals Guild is a non-profit organization made up of people with varying interests and involvement in traditional and contemporary jewelry and metal arts.

The Guild was founded in 1989 to provide for the exchange of ideas and information, as well as to offer affordable educational opportunities to its members and the public.

Our activities include: a bimonthly newsletter, exhibitions and a series of aesthetic, technical and business workshops and lectures."

This upcoming weekend, Seattle Metals Guild Members are invited to tour two jewelry studios (Kirk Lang and Coral Shaffer) as well as the installation piece by Sarah Gascoigne (one of the first SMG scholarship recipients).

Here is a glimpse into the event--The Almost the Longest day of the Year Studio Tour!:
